Suggest Treatment For Metabolic Acidosis In An Infant

I ma from the Caribbean, Trinidad to be precise. My five-week old baby has beed diagnosed with Metabolic Acidosis and she did not respond well to the bicarbonate. Her acid level is high and she is now unable to breathe on her own. Does she need dialysis and can you recommend some Children;s Hospital that can deal with her case?

Dear parent, if the child did not respond to bicarbonate this means that the underlying of acidosis was not treated. the cause of acidosis might be diabetes ketoacidosis that needs to be diagnosed and blood sugar needs to be controlled. if the acidosis is 2ry to ingesting drugs then probably the child will need dialysis
