Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have constant pain from tendons and ligaments in all major joints but mainly my legs. It s debilitating. I have been treated by pain management, rheumatologist and others but still no answers. One doctor said I have lupus another called it gout but none of the meds have helped. Sometimes severe swelling, sometimes not.

1. Since Lupus is an Autoimmune disease thus can affect any part of the body, and the symptoms may vary from person to person.
PS. No one test can diagnose lupus, thus the combination of blood and urine tests, signs and symptoms, and physical examination findings leads to the diagnosis, so having a regular checkup instead of only seeing your doctor when your symptoms worsen may help your doctor to prevent flare-ups, and can be useful in addressing routine health concerns.
2. Since it is an Autoimmune disease thus in Ayurveda we generally follow the Immunomodulatory (Rasayana Chikitsa) treatment for which one can have: Ashwagandha, Shatavari, Guduchi, Yashtimadhu, Rasna.
PS. Ask your doctor if you need Vitamin D and calcium supplements [there is some evidence to suggest that people with lupus may benefit from supplemental D.
