Suggest Treatment For Lump On The Shin Post Injury

My son hit his shin on a metal pole and has tennis ball size lump on leg now from it was better this morning but when he went to football practice and was done it swollen up his entire leg then as he rested the swelling went down. Should we be concerned?

Hi,

Due to trauma, there is a collection of blood in the leg tissue. It is called hematoma. Usually such lesion subside in few days with rest.

It's advisable to avoid strenuous activities and take rest for few days. You can post a photo of the lesion to comment further.
