Suggest Treatment For Lump On The Left Side Of Neck

I have a lump on the left side of my neck. It only hurts when I touch it. It is also slightly visible, but when I turn my neck to the right, it is very viusible. When I touch it, you can really feel the bump. I am seeing my doctor on monday [friday today]. I ve seen on the internet that this could be serious which is why I am slightly worried about this. I ve had it for 2 days but it hasn t disappeared. [I ve had this before and it goes away naturally] It is above my collar bone or shoulder, where they both meet, and behind the ear. So under the ear next to the shoulder. It is small, and hasn t changed shape or size. I really want to see the doctor but waiting a few days to see if it does go. I know I am very esrly to judge as people wait a month or three. Please help as I am very concerned.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of lump on the left side of neck which is mainly lymphnode swelling. Sometimes lump in neck can also occur due to abscess formation due to tooth infection or infection in sub mandibular glands. I would suggest you to consult a general physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and FNAC/BIOPSY of the nodes can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly. In case of infection antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medicine and warm compresses over the nodes can help in resolution. Doctor may also refer you to ENT specialist or dentist .Take diet rich in multivitamins. Apply warm compresses on lump and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain .

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get Well soon.
Best Wishes,
