Suggest Treatment For Lump In Right Breast

hi my daughter s primary physician found a lump in her right breast in april 2015. She just had a ultrasound and a mamogram last week which were not clear, the lump is the size of a quarter and is not hard or painful. She has a biospy on Tuesday. She is 38 years, in excellent health, she is not over weight, she exerccises every week, eats healthy natural food, she does drink alcohol in moderation, and doesn t do drugs, she doesn t smoke and never has. Her partner and her just had a baby last year, her partner had the baby. They both stopped drinking for over a year. She has been drinking alot more caffine then usual because she is tired from working full time and taking care of a new baby. She has one great aunt who had breast cancer and died from the disease 37 years ago. No other close relative have had breast cancer, which includes her mother, her grandmother, her 2 half sisters, her aunts and her first and second cousins none have had breast cancer. of course, i am her mom and i am concerned and I knowno one can tell until the results of the biopsy are in. What is the likely hood that it is a benign cyst?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
I have gone through your question and understand your concern. Young women often suffer with benign breast lumps in my opinion the most likely cause of breast lump in a women of reproductive age group is fibroadenoma or breast mouse. It is a non cancerous growth in fibrous and glandular tissue of breast due to hormonal activity. Needle biopsy will confirm the diagnosis, and based on the diagnosis treatment will be planned.
Weight management, avoiding alcohol, smoking and drugs, living a healthy life, having a single partner, breastfeeding has been included in protective behavior for preventing breast cancer. Good luck. Hope your concern is answered. Thank you.
