Suggest Treatment For Lower Right Abdominal Pain Caused After Removing Benign Tumor

Hello, I have had lower right abdominal pain that will occasionally wake me up through the night. It also is painful to press on the area of pain. I did have my spleen, 75% of my pancreas, and benign tumor on it removed about a year ago. I have been having this pain since they found the tumor. Some people have told me it could be from my ovaries but it doesn t take place a little before, after, or during my period. Do you have any ideas??

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

It is important to do an ultrasound scan and CT scan abdomen and pelvis to get a complete idea of the problem in the right lower abdomen. Even benign tumors can occur again or cause similar tumors in other areas of the abdomen. If you had a benign tumor in pancreas and it was removed then a follow up CT scan is recommended.

Ultrasound scan can be done initially to make a general survey of the right lower abdomen and the ovaries. It is important to do blood tests like ovary and pancreas tumor markers and proceed further. In the mean time you can take precautions not to participate in heavy physical work and take pain relief medicines when required. Please do not worry.
