General Surgeon 's  Response
You have in all probability strained your calf muscles of the right leg during bowling. Muscle injury could be just a stretch or sometimes muscle fibers can get torn. The healing process would depend on the degree of the muscle injury. The fact that after one weeks rest when you did bowling, the pain and discomfort recurred strongly suggest that few muscle fibers could be torn. This would take about 3 weeks rest. The main treatment is REST to the right leg till complete healing of the injured muscles. Please limit your ambulation to the minimum. Please do not massage the muscles as it may aggravate the injury and delay healing. Hot fomentation would help in relieving muscle spasm and pain.
