Suggest Treatment For Lower Abdominal Pain

Hello..I m a 36 yr old mother of 3 with no complications,no health problems, non smoker, light alcohol intake.. I have always had roughly a 32 day menstrual cycle, however,in recent months it has varied from 30-70 days with increased lower abdominal pain & lower back ache not just in the pre menstrual period but throughout the cycle..my last smear screen 2 yrs ago was NAD.. I should note I did have a tubal ligation performed during my last delivery(a planned cesarean) 4 yrs ago. I am concerned about the abdominal bloating, most often at evening time but it is particularly bad following a work shift,as well as back ache that is now borderline constant! Any advice you could give me..EMMA

Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Lower abdominal pain with irregular menses could probably be caused by gynecological problem to investigate.Possible causes may include:
-Hormonal imbalances
-PCOS
-PID
-Other possible causes irregular periods with some cycles lasting up to 70 days and which are less likely in your case are: medications, stress, excessive exercise and weight loss. All these may however not give you the digestive manifestations you present.
I will advise you see your Gynecologist for evaluation and work-ups.A pelvic ultrasound and an STI work-up will be very useful for initial evaluation.
Hope my answer will help you.
