Suggest Treatment For Low Heart Rate And Nausea

My husband has a low heart rate, 42, and is feeling nauseous. His normal heart rate is 55 or so. His doctors tell him he will end up w a pacemaker someday but no official diagnosis has been made beside the fact that he has a heart murmur. Should I take him to the ER NOW

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

After going through your medical details I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that your husband is experiencing symptomatic bradycardia which is most likely happening due to heart rhythm disorder which requires proper evaluation and treatment.
It's recommended for you to get an ECG, echocardiography and a Holter( ambulatory ECG ) for minimum 48 hours done and consult a cardiologist with reports. If significant bradycardia or rhythm pauses will be there then he will definitely require a pacemaker implantation.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hi,

If the heart rate is too low then it could be time to see the ER but it should not be lower than 50 beats per minute, moreover, it has to be consulted with a doctor. It has to be tested with an EKG. If it is confirmed that bradycardia is lesser than 40 bpm then the patient requires a pacemaker but prior to this, the patient has to see the ER

Hope I have answered your query, let me know for further assistance.
