Suggest Treatment For Low Blood Pressure

My husband is on blood pressure medication. Occasionally his blood pressure will go low (currently 95/58). It will return to normal after several hours. His doctor has us watch it and tells us to go to the emergency room if the bottom number goes lower than 50. Is there anything that he can do to try to get it back up more quickly?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello thank you for writing us here.
Low blood pressure can be managed by adding little more salt in diet. It would be beneficial for him and won't let the BP fall.
But don't add too much salt because it won't be good. Just a pinch more salt and he would feel better. Also make sure he drinks plenty of water at least 10 glasses a day.
God blew you and your husband.

Best regards,
Dr Gunjan
