Suggest Treatment For Loose Stools

I have a severely retarted uncle who has started yelling and not speaking anymore, he is 56 on Kepra, problem he has no ordinary bowels. They come out like water that looks like black tar, his doctors think it is nothing. However no human being can yell and I mean sometimes 20 hours a day without something being wrong. I live in South Carolina and have the supposedly the best doctors to treat people like my uncle Mike. But not one will care or change his medicine. I believe if this keeps up he may die with in 6 months. Any suggestions or great doctors? I have found not a one who will observe him for even one day.

Welcome to health care magic,

Black coloured stool is known as melena which could be due to bleeding in upper gastrointestinal tract like in peptic ulcer,gastritis,esophageal varices ormallory-weiss syndrome or hookworm,drug induced etc.

He should undergo routine blood count and stool examination with ultrasound abdomen and upper gastrointestinal tract endoscopy will confirm the diagnosis.

Treatment is mainly depend on the underlying cause but he may require antibiotics, antihelminthic with supportive treatment.

Consult gastroenterologist for further advise.
