Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Peritonitis may cause fluid retention in the abdomen with distension with or without loose motions.

Check for immunosuppressed status, it may be due to antibiotics that are given for peritonitis.

Use probiotics. You may send stool for microscopy and culture sensitivity.

If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu,
