Hi this is syed my 1year 4months baby is suffering from loss stools and vomiting ones in 15day from past 5months from which her weight is getting down, while she was born she was 3kg 200grm currently she is just 8kg we tried everything lot of medicine even admitted in hospital nothing is working out permanently, kindly suggest what can be the reason my aunt is suggesting for noworm syrup weather its fine or kindly sagest for the same.
Noted the history about your 1 year and 4 month old child. Loose stools with vomiting is usually suggestive of one of the following: Intestinal infection Intolerance to something in foods or beverages. Hence I would advise you the following: Send the stool for tests. Consult your Pediatrician for clinical evaluation, examination so that whether there is any infection and dehydration is present or not. Persistent vomiting may need intravenous fluids, electrolytes and antibiotics as vomiting will not allow the intake and child can go into dehydration and electrolyte imbalance soon. If the vomiting has stopped then oral rehydration is very important. As also the medications as advised by the Pediatrician.
Take care.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T Chandrakant, General & ENT Surgeon
