General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

He may need to be evaluated for amoebic dysentary with stool analysis which may cause the same symptoms. He will be needing oral antibiotics like Ciprofloxacin and Metronidazole along with OTC analgesics like acetaminophen. Probiotics as well as anti spasmodic like Drotaverine can also help. Oral rehydration salts and hydration should be ensured. If problem persists he may need CT abdomen and colonoscopy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
