General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, there are various reasons for long QT syndrome in a child of 9 years as:
- Congenital anomalies as Jervel and Nielsen syndrome, Romano ward syndrome
- Electrolyte disturbances for secondary long QT
- Side effect of certain medications

Once confirmed as the diagnosis, management guidelines consist of beta blocker as prime therapy and supportive medications as per the clinician concern.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
