Suggest Treatment For Left Lower Quadrant Pain

Have had left lower quadrant pain for several weeks--comes and goes but have had constant discomfort now for 8 days. Loose bowels couple days but now feel constipated/gassy. Have dx of IBS but never had this pain. Very sore to touch and feels like something inside is stretching to breaking point!

Gastroenterologist 's  Response
Hello! Thanks for putting your query in HCM. Iam Dr.Amit Jain (DM, Gastroenterologist). Pain in left lower quadrant may be due to many causes like diverticulitis, inflammation or infection of sigmoid colon or rectum, or may be due to some pelvic organ disease so I will advise to visit your doctor who may advise you ultrasound abdomen or colonic examination after taking history and examination to reach to the diagnosis. I hope I have answered your query. If you have any further query I will be happy to answer that too. Wish you a good health
