Suggest Treatment For Left Arm Pain From The Elbow To The Shoulder

My 20 year old daughter, who is in good shape, is having left arm pain from the elbow to the shoulder. Yesterday she had a headache on the left side of her face and was slightly short of breath with some mild chest pain. she is normally very healthy. Is this an emergent situation or because of her age and lack of prior health issues should we just wait it out?

Hi,

She is having chest pain and pain over left arm. Is there any swollen glands palpable in left armpit?

If she do not have fever or cough and no swollen glands palpable, we need not worry now. Shortness of breath is probably secondary to chest pain.

Just give her paracetamol 500mg 3 times a day for 3 days. She will be alright by then. Take her to doctor if pain does not come down by then, tender glands palpable in armpit or fever comes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam TK
