Suggest Treatment For Lack Of Appetite, Hepatitis-C, Cirrhosis Of Liver And Dementia

Hello my mother has Hep C and cirrhosis of the liver. She is 79 yearss of age and is not on any medication for it besides the water pills and blood pressure pills. I was told by her Dr that there is nothing she can take because it can cause more damage. She has just stop eating a day ago and says she is not hungry and will not go to the washroom. She has a little demenscia, and I try to make her comfortable, but sometimes I get scared and do not know what to do. I hae a nurse to come and check her out , but its getting to the point where I hired hospice as well. I hae children 10,17 and my brother is here but always asks me what to do and is not much help, becaus he gets angry because of my Mother s condition. I just found out last year that she had the illness and fluid was on her lungs as well. Please help and giv me some type of advice so I will not expect the worse. Alo she does not want to see the Dr. and says she is ok, but I know this is just a reaction because of her illness. I am getting stressed out and have to take care of mostly everything. I am not working at this time and have to worry and take care of my mother and my children.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
I am sorry to say that the treatment of your mother is not going in right direction.
As you mentioned that she is having cirrhosis of liver , hepatitis "C " as well dementia . She is not eating any thing . . She is also taking water pill as well blood pressure tablets.
In my opinion it is very very difficult to diagnose without physical , clinical , laboratory examination.
In my opinion at once get an admission in a hospital and take treatment .
It is very difficult to advise something merely on the basis of this information.
Hope this will help you.
