Suggest Treatment For Knee Sprain

Hello, Have a student that wants to ice knee on water breaks during dance class ( had hurt her knee a while ago and recently aggravated it). Is this OK or does she run risk of contracting her warmed up muscles too much, then exposing her to further injury? I believe the original issue was a strain or sprain.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that your student wants to ice knee on water breaks during dance class .She had strained her knee earlier. I think there is no harm in doing so. For pain relief she can take analgesic such as ibuprofen. Vitamin B and C are helpful in recovering. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries. Wishing you good health. Take care.
