Suggest Treatment For Kidney Stones

I had several kidney stones removed and thought my problems were all but solved. I still have the same pain in my lower back and I m beginning to wonder if it is something other than kidney stones. My doctor assured me that all of the stones had been removed. After the surgery things felt better. A few weeks later the pain has come back but not as often as before the surgery. I m really confused and I think my doctor is as well. I can t live my life like this. I just want to be back to normal . Any thoughts?

hello,
i can understand your concern. i would like to know your age.
i would like to know if the surgery was pcnl(percutaneous nephrolithotomy) or ursl(ureteroscopic lithotripsy)
in both the surgeries a double j stent is usually left for 4 to 6 weeks so that any remaining stones fall into the bladder and subsequently they pass of in urine.
there might have been minor stones which the doctor might have accidentally missed.
kindly get a xray kub and an ultra sound abdomen for the same.
if nothing is found and every thing seems to be ok, this should then be evaluated for any degenerative changes in the vertebra.
an mri scan of the spin would be helpful in that.
kindly drink plenty of fluids(4 to 5 litres a day). this would be very beneficial.
take tab diclofenac 50mg twice daily for five days after food.
kindly get back to us with the reports.
feel free to ask further queries.
hope i have answered your concerns.

thanks for choosing HCM.
