Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Sorry to hear your husband is struggling with
urinary stone and sorry for relying your query late.Hope my answer may still help if he is not yet taken care of or hope it may help if any recurrence since it is common in patients with a past history of urinary stone.
Small kidney stone may be managed medically with pain and anti-inflammatory medications hoping that it will pass.It may however stay in place longer and increases the risk of developing a UTI.
Urinary incontinence, abdominal pain/
bloating and discharge suggest an infection is in place and will need to be adequately managed to prevent complications like
sepsis and kidney failure.Best treatment would have entailed hospitalization and
IV antibiotic and pain/anti-inflammatory medications while following up if he has passed out the stone. After passing out urinary stone or after being treated for it, recurrence is common.Preventive measures that may help your husband in future may include:
-Drink water throughout the day
-Eat fewer oxalate-rich foods
-Choose a diet low in salt and animal protein
-Continue eating calcium-rich foods, but use caution with calcium supplements
Hope this will help
Best regards
