General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

All fungal infections including jock itch sometimes require oral anti-fungal medication like Fluconazole. For the prescription, you will have to see a dermatologist.

In meantime, you must keep the area dry and clean, as moisture aids the fungal growth. Avoid using vinegar over the affected area as it will cause further irritation.

In addition, you must get your blood sugars, white blood count tested; as diabetes and poor immune system can lead to recurrent fungal infections.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ayesha Shareef, General & Family Physician
