Suggest Treatment For Itchy Rashes In The Groin Area

I have a rash that started in groin next to both side of testicals. It has bee growing over 5 or more months. it has grown under anto back, all the way to tailbone. Then grown up to pad, then this week over texticals, and tonight I notice red spots moving outward at belt line. pimples, rash, and horrible itching. 99 percent of the time, I don t scratch, but get in shower and wash with soap and cloth, dry and put meds. At first doctor thought it was yeast infection, as it got worse, she later thought fungus, and treated with pills for fungus and antibiotics. it seems to stop, then start. I keep area medicated and dry. put the last 2 days, the penis itch is maddening. Tried to get a dermatologist apt. none till month and half!

Hello,

As per your clinical history is concerned, please follow like this:

1) Do a clinical examination by your Doctor [Dermatologist] and to know exact cause do a skin scraping and patch test.

2) Discuss with your Doctor about [steroid cream] for itch and take prescription medications as per investigations and clinical findings only.

Do lifestyle modifications like this:

1) Try to avoid irritants and allergens. Try to identify and avoid substances that irritate your skin or cause an allergic reaction. Wash your skin. You might be able to remove most of the rash-causing substance if you wash your skin right away after contacting it.

2) Apply an iron-on patch to cover metal fasteners next to your skin. This can help you avoid a reaction to jean snaps.

3) Try to use moisturizer. This can help restore your skin's outermost layer and keep your skin supple.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Uday Nath Sahoo
