Suggest Treatment For Itching On The Testicles

since november 2010 I have had chronic itching under, either side, and on my testicles every day all day long.At the outset it only happened at night. this started in the summer of 2010. in november of 2010 I had scratched my testicles so hard and often the skin came off, causing an infection at the top of my groin area. I went to the hospital and was giving antibiotics for the infection. I was also giving a topical cream for what they called jock itch. The infected area cleared up but the jock itch persisted. I used the cream from November 2010 until April 2011. I was buying a tube a week and it became expensive for each tube cost 17.99. The itch persisted, so I returned to see my primary care doctor. He told me he was going to write me a prescription for econzole nitrate 1%. He said that it was lot stronger than the previous cream, for it was a prescribed medication whereas the other was an over the counter medication. He told me to use it for 30 days and if the itch continued to call him an d he would set me up with a dermatoligist. I called him after the 30 days for the itch intensified. It starts as soon as I apply the cream. Its itching right now. Please tell me what this is and what I can do to stop this madness?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,Dear,Thanks for your query to HCM.
Dear I read your query and reviewed it with context to your query facts.
I understood your health concerns and feel Concerned about them.

Based on the facts of your query, you should consider following causes for your complaints and sufferings-
You seem to suffer from chronic ringoworm, with Majjochi's Granuloma with hair follicle involvement which is causing recurrent infections.
In the given scenario- I would ask you to consult with -Dermatologist.
Current problem seems to be drug induced from econazole cream.Stop it immediately and take Tab- Loratidine-antihistaminic .
You seem to have chronic deep rooted / resistant ringworm infection.Rule out Diabetes, and other causes by blood sugar and other tests from your doctor.
In My opinion I would suggest you to take Tab Terbinafine-250 mg x 2-6 weeks orally, with Dettol Cleansing with sponging daily would resolve the issue soon.No steroids to be used.NSAIDs if needed.
General health improvement with fruits juices / vegie soup / high protein bland diets and to rule out other causes is suggested for permanent cure.
Other causes- inverse psoriasis , erythrasma , seborrheic dermatitis , and candidal intertrigo need to be ruled out.
Hope this would help you to treat your health issues in the best way possible.
Welcome for any further query in this regard
Good Day!!
