Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,

I can understand your concern for itching at shoulders and back. After analyzing your query it appears to be a case of non-specific pruritus or itching related to dry skin condition. In your kind of cases it is quite important to not to scratch the area as the most important part.
In case if you are scratching it then the problem can get more worsened and later more aggravation of itching. I suggest my patients to apply plenty of moisturizing cream to be applied just after bath.
An antihistamine such as cetrizine or laoratadine or levo-cetrizine could be taken for two times a day.
All the best.
