I have been suffering from IBS since last couple of years,I have taken lot of medicine(including VSL 3) but the problem is still not solved.Sometimes my stool is very hard. I have done stool test yesterday and the report says my stool contain pus cells as well as fat droplet and undigested food, is it anything serious? If yes then please suggest me what should I do to resolve the problem?

Hello hope the answer satisfies you.As you mentioned that you are diagnosed case of IBS and receiving medications already. As you already know that IBS can be with or without diarrhea now your stool analysis shows pus cells which might indicate infection as E Histolytica or Giardiasis that needs a course of antibiotic regimen to cover the infection and this will resolve your symptoms as abdominal colic if your IBS is not controlled with medication dose might needs adjustment to increment it as four times a day of mebevarine or the one you are taking
