General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The cause of irregular or delayed periods should be identified. Pelvic ultrasound, thyroid function test and blood tests should be done to rule out ovarian cyst, hypothyroidism and anemia which are some of the important diseases to be ruled out. After stopping meprate, you can expect your periods in 7 to 10 days. In case of absent bleeding even after 10 days, I would suggest visiting your gynaecologist.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
