Suggest Treatment For Irregular Periods With Cramps And Bloating

Hello I m a 23 year old female with irregular periods the last 3 being 23 days, 27 days, 35 days apart. I m now 34 days past the first day of my last period. I have felt like I m going to start my period but have not. I ve felt a little bloated some mild cramping and I m really tired. I was just wondering if you think I should take an at home pregnancy test or wait it out a little longer.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Yes, you can consider a home pregnancy test if it is 11 to 14 days after possible conception.
This is the time that a pregnancy test can accurately determine if someone has conceived.

Other causes of delayed or irregular periods include: (1) emotional stress or illness
(2)thyroid disease
(3)physical illness
(4)polycystic ovarian syndrome
(5)excess physical activity
(6)high levels of a hormone called prolactin
(7)inadequate diet

If the test is truly negative and you continue to have problems with your periods then you may need to be assessed for one of the above.
This would require blood tests (hormonal) and imaging such as an ultrasound.

Treatment would depend on the cause found.

I hope this helps
