Suggest Treatment For Irregular Periods After Taking Postinor-2
I had unprotected sex on the 14th of December and I took postinor2 few hours after. I also had another sex d nextday which I took postinor2 again. My normal menstrual cycle came toward ending of December with the normal flow but I noticed I didn t ovulate on the 14th day. Now I m suppose to have seen my period and i haven t. I ve used the early morning pee for test which is negative. What exactly is going on? I m so worried that I couldn t sleep.

Postinor 2 is an emergency contraceptive pill. It prevents pregnancy by inhibiting implantation of fertilized egg on the uterus. Normal dosage is 1 pills as early as possible after having sex. 2nd pill should be taken 12 hours after intake of 1st pill . It is 95% successful if taken within 24 hours of having sex.
If you took 2 pills within 2 hours of intercourse, then re-taking postinor was not necessary again next day. Now your periods have become irregular, It is a common side effect due to high dose of levonorgestrel in the pill, which disrupts your normal menstrual cycles. Therefore your periods are delayed most probably & they might be delayed or 1-2 cycles. No treatment is necessary your periods will become regular after 2-3 cycles.
Use condom or regular contraceptive pill as method of contraception in future. Regular taking postinor pills can cause serious problems like irregular periods, ovarian hyper-stimulation syndrome & even infertility.
