Hi I am having irregular and very heavy bleeding for some time now. I was sterilised using the e-sure procedure around 3 years ago on the doctors advise due to bleeding issues and not being able to take the pill as it makes me sick. I used the depo for around 15 years so they were concerned as this was classed as long term. I had the implant but this also didn't suit. They have said today I need to have an endometrial biopsy then to try cerazette to control the bleeding but when reading about it it states do not take if you have unexplained vaginal bleeding, I am concerned as to why the doctor has advised this when it states don't take it if you have these symptoms...?????
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Cerazette is progesterone only contraceptive pill and it should not be taken if you have irregular bleeding ad te cause is not known. You should confirm with your doctor the reason for starting Cerazette. Heavy and irregular vaginal bleeding needs evaluation to rule out any endometrial hyperplasia or carcinoma. This is done by endometrial biopsy. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health. Dr Neeraj Kumar
