Hi, My father is suffering from Interestial lung disease(ILD) for the last 2 years. We have consulted CMC vellore and he is under medication. But situation is getting worsen. Kindly let me know the best hospital/doctor for ILD disease. Thanks, Tanweer
Hello and welcome to HCM, Interstitial lung disease (ILD) is a progressive and chronic disease. There are various causes for ILD and the progression depends on the underlying cause. The management of ILD is primarily supportive and there is no definitive treatment of ILD. In my opinion you can continue the treatment with CMC Vellore because the worsening of disease is probably due to natural course of disease. Changing of hospital or doctor may lead to unneccesary expenditure and discomfort to patient. Supportive treatment will only help the patient to recover.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
