Suggest Treatment For Insomnia When Diagnosed With Bipolar Disorder With Mania

I am diagnosed bi polar and mainly manic 75% of the time. Over 20 years I have been on everything. I am still mot med relieved, ever, but my worse issue is sleep. I have tried everything and lately the meds I am trying have horrific side effects. I try behavioral patterns also, but the mania takes control I don t sleep. What/How can I get sleep? This insomnia is going to make my heart explode any day now. Seeking relief in bed.

. Well, insomnia may be difficult to treat, but there are some methods which can be used. Treatment options include behavior and lifestyle changes, medicines, and complementary medicines. You need to change your dietary habits and these include changing your sleep area or schedule, watching what and when you eat and drink, and being more active. It's also important to keep regular bedtimes and wake times-7 days a week-and to try to avoid taking naps during the day. Prescription sleep medicines amy also help and include diazepam and similar medications.Melatonin is supplement which may be of help as well. In severe cases special testing is needed.
