Suggest Treatment For Injury Of Tailbone After A Fall
Three weeka ago I slipped and fell on my hardwood floors at home. I assumed I just bruised my tailbone but now it feels like it is poking out my butt. My right cheek by the top of the crack is red, hard, swollen, and bruised. I got xrays that showed no sign of fracture. The doctor said there wasnt anything else they could do but give me pain meds till it heals on its own. I can barely walk, drive, bend over, etc. It has been very painful. I woke up tonight however, to soaked underwear and puss leaking out of the area. It felt a little better when I initially got up to quickly go to the bathroom but its starting to hurt worse again. I just want to know whats wrong with me.

Painful hard swelling with draining of pus is suggestive of infectious process.
A history of fall and bruising could have led to infection of the bruised site.
Initially a clinical assessment is required and if there is evidence of infection, antibiotics have to be prescribed.
If the pain still persists after a course of antibiotics, imaging study preferably MRI of the area is required to assess the soft tissues.
Consult your primary healthcare provider as soon as possible.
In the mean while you can take pain killers and hot fomentation for the pain and swelling.
