I have an infection that began in the back of my right calf. About a week ago my leg from the middle of the calf down to the ankle turned red, was swollen, and in lots of pain. I actually had trouble taking a step on the worst day. I have since been treating it with Neosporin about three times a day. The redness is going as has the numbness and the pain. There still is some pain, but it is mostly related to the pressure locked inside the blister or boil cap that the infection seems to want to come out of. What I want to know is should I drain the infection out, or will it go away on its own? Btw, I am 42 years-old, in excellent health, I literally have only been sick like 2-3 times in my life, my metabolism and immune systems work exceptionally quick and well. I do not have medical insurance and do not want to go to the local ER to wait 12 hours or more ansd later be charged thoussndsa of dollars for soemthing I can do myself at home.
