Suggest Treatment For Infection At The Ear Piercing Site

Sir I had a normal ear piercing since last 12 years...i have been wearing fancy earrings since then..but now from last year my left piercing always passes a clear liquid on wearing the earring for long..and it itches a lot..when I itch it again it passes a water like substance...what is the problem?

Hi.
As per your case history you are having irritant dermatitis at ear piercing site.
My treatment advice -
1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply an antibiotic plus steroid cream like fusiderm-b cream twice daily on it.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral steroid taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
