Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve had hemorrhoids in the past but nothing like this. Some days are worse than others when it comes to pain and itching. I tried gels and creams and even suppositories. The suppository seemed to make it worse and that s when the bleeding really started. I ve been pretty regular so I don t think constipation caused this. Within the past day or two, I ve noticed I have badly smelling green pus. It s not like the discharge I was having. I m starting to get worried because I m wondering if it s an infected abscess. Do I need to go to the doctor ASAP or wait it out? I don t want to come off as a hypochondriac.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history of suffering from hemorrhoid for long and using the gels, creams and suppositories. The suppositories cause bleeding. Recently you have foul smelling green pus and this is definitely suggestive of an infection. Such a problem is an emergency as this can spread and cause more damage, hence consult a General Surgeon ASAP and get properly examined, evaluated and treated. Take no chances at all.
