Suggest Treatment For Increased Blood Sugar Level

Hello Doctor, My wife is in her ninth month of pregnancy and her sugar level has increased in recent times. Though we are awaiting results of latest blood test for sugar the person at the lab said it is high. Why could this be happening and what should be done?

Hello dear,I understand your concern. In my opinion increased blood levels might also be due to stress. But exclusion of diabetes is very important. So fasting blood sugar(FBS) and post prandial blood sugar(PPBS) might be needed to exclude diabetes. If there is excess weight gain during pregnancy low calorie nutritional diet should be taken and exercise for 1/2 an hour daily is advisable.
