Suggest Treatment For Increased Anxiety Erectile Dysfunction

Hello, I am 25 years old. For the past year or so, my performance anxiety erectile dysfunction seems to be getting worse. I was prescribed cialis 20 mg - however I discontinued use because I hate the flushing side effect. Now it seems like I have mild anxiety with taking anything. I have a history of diabetes, but my blood work was fine this past January. So taking half a cialis worked, but I was never consistent with it due to the anxiety. I have not taken cialis in a couple months, and a week ago I began taking a GNC product - staminol. To start a natural method of curing this problem. I don t know exactly what to expect, it seems to try to help with an erection, however it feels like there is no life down there all day. And it has felt like that for a long time. Testosterone levels were normal - however on the lower end of the spectrum. Don t know if that is a factor, but I am 25 and should not be having this issue at all! What do you suggest?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi, thanks for the query; are you married or into a stable monogamous relationship? Do you habitually use tobacco or tobacco products, alcohol or drugs like marijuana, amphetamines etc.? As multiple relationships, illicit affairs, use of aforementioned drugs are all proven causes of decreased sexual performance, erectile failure. I would like to know about first instance of erectile dysfunction. Also, as you have rightly pointed out you seem to have entered into a spectator role & rather than enjoying sex, you unknowingly assume role of a performance analyst/critic. So, mildly speaking the problem is NOT between your legs but in your mind. Hence, you should contact a Psychiatrist/Psychologist specializing in offering Masters & Johnsons human sexual response cycle based therapy. If required based on your clinical profile, you can be also offered anxiolytic medications or antidepressants to hasten a speedy recovery
Hope this helps; good luck
