Hi,

There are only a few cases, generally caused by a viral thyroiditis that the thyroid function is low for a short time and it generally recovers so the TSH might come up for a while and then come back to norm. Most of the times the TSH goes up and it remains so and patient needs treatment long term.

In your case because your TSH has started to be high again i would say that you need to take Levothyroxine again and adjust the dose according to regular TSH check. Generally, TSH is checked 6 weeks after starting Levothyroxine and again checked every 6 weeks and dose adjusted till the TSH comes to norm and then every 3 months and if it is stable for a while you can check TSH every 6 months.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
