Suggest Treatment For Hypothyroidism

Hi, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism after RAI 3 months ago. I was put on synthroid 100 mcg and immediately I started getting side effects...like, heart racing, nausea, led pains, stomach cramps, headaches and bloating. I called my DR. and he told me to lower the dosage tp 50 mcg, can you please help?

Hello and thank you for asking!
I have gone carefully through your concern.
If hyperthyroidism is confirmed after the RAI treatment, than levothyroxine should be start but the dose is individual and depends on TSH result.
If you had symptoms of hyperthyroidism with 100 mcg of levothyroxine, your treating physician should confirm it by checking thyroid hormones and lower the dose accordingly to the result.
You should check TSH level every 6 weeks, each time you change the dose of levothyroxine until you find the right one.
