Suggest Treatment For Hypothyroidism

I am a 41 yr old male with hypothyroidism. Have been taking 100mcg of l-thyronine for about 19 months with success. However, I recently tried a new compounding pharmacy and I had adverse reactions to the compound such as increased heart palpitations. I tried to revert back to my old dosage of 100mcg from my original compounder but I am still getting the heart palpitations. I would like to know what my options are. I have now gone about 2 weeks without any meds and started to gain some weight and feel moody and lose concentraiton so I know I need the med but something is off in the dosage. Please advise and thank you.

Endocrinologist 's  Response
Hi dear user
I have gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.

Heart palpitations is a symptom of hyperthyroidism this means that maybe you have taken an excessive dose of Levothyroxine.

My advice is to meet an endocrinologist and to do the thyroid tests TSH,free T3 and free T4.
After the tests results your doctor will be able to do the dosage adjustment or to choose the right brand of Levothyroxine for you(Synthroid, Levoxyl, Levothroid, Unithroid, Tirosint are some of brand names of Levothyroxine.

You need to restart immediately the hormone replacement therapy because you have symptoms of hypothyroidism.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Thank you for using HCM.
Wish you good health.
