Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hey, yesterday I was felling under the weather high fever and a sore throat so I decided to go to sleep early. When I woke up in was felling even worse (possibly influenca) but that wasn t what was worrying me. I suddenly felt this sharp and continues pain in my heart, but when I got on my feet the pain was much less severe. But when I lye back down again I fell pain in my heart, it s worst when I lay on my side.
The fact that the pain is worse in certain positions means it is mostly related to a muscular cause. Sharp pains in the chest are more commonly muscular in origin. Pain from the heart is generally like a pressure on the chest and not sharp.
I would recommend you to take some paracetamol and ibuprofen every 6 hours for the pain and try to rest. If you notice that the pain is not better in a couple of days or you notice any worsening please see your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General & Family Physician
