Suggest Treatment For High Blood Pressure And Depression

61 yr old female History of high blood pressure and depression Medications: lisinopril/hctz Wellbutrin Zoloft and Trazadone Over the past six months I have developed 4 ganglion cysts on the palm of my right hand, along the tendon at the base of the middle finger and the ring finger. X-ray shows slight loss of cartilage in the joints. My question: why multiple cysts develop, and is it likely that more will continue to develope?

Hello
Thankyou for asking your question at health care magic.

According to your medication history you are already on medication for High blood pressure (Lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide) and depression (Zoloft,Welbutrin, trazadone)
I recommend that you follow up with your doctor for blood pressure monitoring/side effects from your medication.
If you are still continuing to have depressed feelings ,I suggest consulting your doctor for dose changes or reconsideration of depression medications.
However if you are having suicidal thoughts or thoughts of hurting yourself immediately go the emergency room /seek help.

Ganglion cysts are benign fluid fiiled cysts, most commonly occuring at the back of hand and wrist. Ganglion cyst do not have a defenite cause, but stress, trauma to the joints and degenerative joint diseases are some of the reasons.
Having a Ganglioncyst do not increase your chance of having more,as they do not spread .
Most of the times Ganglion cysts do not cause any problems and go away without any treatment. But if you notice increase in size, swelling, redness, pain over the cyst consult your doctor.

Hope I was able to answer your questions
Please feel free to address any more concerns
Regards,
Dr.Lekshmi
