Hello,

ESR is a non-specific investigation and we can not make any conclusions solely based on ESR. It is a sign of chronic infection.
You can go for an echo test to check the functional status of the heart. In valvular heart disease, ESR may be elevated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
