Hello,
Thank you for asking at HCM.
As you explain you are already taking 2 medications for high blood pressure. Amtas M has amlodipine and metoprolol which are good medications for blood pressure. If you have diabetes another good medication to add especially if not good control of values is Enalapril which is in the family of ACE inhibitors and has good effect to protect the heart and kidneys. It is best to have blood pressure levels less than 135/85 if you have high blood pressure and diabetes. Another medication to use for blood pressure if Enalapril is not helping enough is Hydrochlorthyazide (a diuretic). A doctor has to decide on doses and when to start what.
Are you on diabetes medications? If not yet you will might need to start it. Even though your sugar levels do not seem very high the sugar after food should not go beyond 200 so having a HbA1C done to tell us how sugar was the last 3 months and if it is more than 7.1% you will need medications for diabetes also.
Hope this helps you and answers to your question.
