I am 53 and have ocassional heart pain,no shortness of breath during it and normally happens while I am not exerting.I have high blood pressure ,anxiety and take medications for both.I had low testosterone after testing and am now getting injections.thanks Jon
Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries
I can understand your concern. The symptoms like occasional heart pain which occurs without any reason could occur due to anxiety. You have history of anxiety and anxiety can present with similar presentation. The pain usually occurs at rest and this rules out any ischaemic cardiac condition. Still I'd advise you to visit a physician for help and to rule out any medical cause for these symptoms.
If everything comes normal then most likely cause is anxiety attacks. For relief of symptoms medicines like low dose benzodiazepines as Lorazepam, Clonazepam etc can help. These medicines help to reduce the symptoms and can be used on SOS basis. For relief and treatment of symptoms SSRIs like Fluoxetine, Paroxetine etc are used. Visit a psychiatrist for evaluation and treatment.
Thanks, Hope this helps you. Take care
