Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I take 5mg of Amlodopine and 20mg of Quinapril daily for high blood pressure. I also take 2.5 mg of Glyburide and 500mg of Metformin to treat type 2 diabetes. My weight is 204 lbs and I m 5 11 . I have been experiencing some dizziness (not the spinning kind). This has been going on for months since I dropped from 220lbs to 204lbs within a two month time period. My primary doctor has not been able to get me feeling better. Do you have any suggestions?
Dear Customer , This is Dr. S. Tomar from healthcaremagic.com's medical team and I ll be your medical advisor for this question. First of all thank you for sharing your concern with us and showing trust on us. First of all I would like to inform you that the primary treatment of diabetes and hypertension depends on life style modification . You should exercise regularly ( 30 minute brisk walk 5 days a week ) and should eat a balanced healthy diet and should take 7 hour sleep everyday . As far as medicines are considered so I need to know your current HbA1c levels and your usual blood pressure readings , your age and past medical history to suggest you further treatment options . Glyburide sometimes can cause hypoglycemia and can cause dizziness with sweating and palpitations also as a side effect which needs to be further evaluated . Dizziness can also be due to blood pressure issues and you should monitor your pressure regularly and inform your GP as there might be need to change dosage of medicines.
This is my initial response and discussion is open until you have any query or need further clarification. I wish you good health . Thank you for your question and feel free to contact further for any question . sincerely, Dr. Shardendu Tomar
