Suggest treatment for high BP and pulse rate

I was at work and just didnt feel right so i took my blood pressure and pulse rate. Blood pressure was 151/90 ajd pulse was 113. My pharmacist he tell by looking at me that i was having breathing issuse. I am an ovarian and uterine cancer survivor since July 25 of this year. Could this be an effect of the chemo or something totally different. I also have chroica hep c but that s been undetectable for almost 10 years, after i did the interferon treatment.

Hi welcome to HCM.
I understand your query and concern.
High blood pressure uncontrolled leads to Left ventricular hypertrophy in ECG and should be evaluated for Dilated cardiomyopathy or ischemic stroke of brain or heart. Best treatment for elevated blood pressure is through drugs like beta blockers and Ace inhibitors. Before that adequate management and work up is needed. So I advise you to have a baseline 2 dimensional echocardiography,ECG and lipid profile to assess the basic cardiac reserve of your heart.Restrict the intake of salt to less than 6g/day.Regular physical exercise in the form of brisk walk for 20 min a day for 5 days a week is pretty useful.Drugs like Aten or amlodepine and antiarrhythmics like metoprolol will help.Reduce the intake of fatty and fried food. One pomegranate a day will help to keep your heart at good condition without clot formation. Stress management is most vital in your case.So Consult a Cardiologist for further expert management.
Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.

My husband currently has shingles (1 week into it) and is 36 years old at a weight of 195. We were told to monitor his BP for the next 3 weeks to determine any meds. For the past week his BP has been in the range of 160-196 over 90-109. This morning s reading (at a rested state) was 196 over 109 with a pulse rate of 57. Should we do anything? His family has a history of heart issues and high BP.

Our 30 year old son is 6 ft. 5, overweight 320. Smokes cigarettes , probably at least a pack. He has been unemployed for 2 years, has mental health issues & gives plasma for money. Recently he has been turned down because of high blood pressure (160/90 a few times then 130/90) and for the last month a pulse rate of at least 103 & more often 108. He is on state aid healthcare & has an appointment for December 15 with a doctor. He works out at the gym intermittently, starting back a few weeks ago. Does the elliptical machine & then dances & stretches. He has at least two cavities & is in need of deep cleaning, but most not covers by his healthcare & he is resistant to our advice to go to a dental school & we will help pay. My most immediate concern is his pulse rate & blood pressure. I read somewhere that he should go to emergency that it is dangerous. Could you let me know your thoughts.

I quit smoking after 28 years. I am 46 years old now. after two weeks I got blood pressure (140/100) which was not consistent. It returns to 130/90. Exactly after 2 months, pressure rised to 140/100. Then doctor prescribed micardis 80 (Telmisarton). after 28 days, the doctor prescribed micardis plus 80. I am not feeling well with it after 2 doses. My pulse rate was 126 bpm yesterday afternoon. In the evening 92 Bpm. However, this morning 88 Bpm. after breakfast 92 again. Please advise me.
