Suggest Treatment For High BP After Taking Iron Supplements

Hi My doc. Told me to take iron because my hernia surgery caused a hematoma the size of a tennis ball. My Levels went from 14.3 down to 9.3 after the surgery.my current level of hemoglobin is now at 10.5. When I take the iron pills I get too hyper and my blood pressure increases from normal to 140/95. I currently take blood-pressure medicine. Do you think time released iron might do the trick or perhaps cutting them in half. I m supposed to take two tablets a day. What do you suggest?

Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. Iron is not known to influence blood pressure.
2. Anemia along with increased cardiac activity along with stress and anxiety is possibly affecting blood pressure.
3. You need to continue regular intake of iron supplements. Along with it B-complex supplements and Vit C for better absorption of iron will be helpful.
4. Moderate exercises and weight reduction will be helpful in reducing blood pressure.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
