Hidradenitis suppurativa is inflammation of the sebaceous glands in the axillae and hence antibiotics have role only if there is an infection. I would advise you the following in such a situation: Use loose clothes so that there is aeration in the armpit area all the time, this is very important curative thing. Clean the area with plain water 4 times a day and dry up using hair dryer. Apply Liquid povidone iodine locally twice daily to avoid the the secondary infection. Take Therapeutic dosages of Vitamin A, D and multivitamins with mineral. Avoid stress and anxiety. Consult a General Surgeon if the medical management fails to resolve the issue to consider surgical excision of the affected skin.
